Children’s Playgroups
Are you looking for an easy way to
make new friends for you and your
child(ren)? Join a playgroup! These
groups typically consist of 3-5 same-
aged children and meet once a week
with members taking turns hosting the
group.
Chairperson: Laura Haydon
Children’s Social
Join us monthly for exciting activities
at fun locations across the Shoreline.
Enjoy picnics, go apple-picking, meet
at local play-spaces, and much more!
Chairperson: Jennifer Greenwald
Day Out with Dad
Here's a chance for dads to bond
while having some fun with their kids
(and moms get some well-deserved
"R&R"). Meeting the first Saturday
every other month...playgrounds, bike
riding, hiking, etc.
Chairperson: Justin Terribile
Family Social
Fun for the entire family! Kite-flying,
picnics, bowling...anything goes!
Dates and times vary throughout the
year, so see the newsletter for dates
and times.
Co-Chairs: Kathleen O'Connell &
Natasha Friend
Kids & Coffee
Moms and their children get to meet
new friends in a casual morning
potluck setting at rotating members’
houses one Wednesday a month.
Chairperson: Aisling Fearon
Knitting
This group is for anyone who wants to
knit—from beginners to advanced
knitters and everyone in between. We
will meet once a week (day and time
to be decided) at a local cafe or
knitting shop. We will also choose a
fun project and knit it together as a
class at the local knitting shop. For
more information, email Jen Conroy,
jenmconroy@gmail.com.
Chairperson: Jennifer Conroy
Ladies Lunching Out
This is a great group for those whose
children are grown or in school. We are
sharing our “Bucket List” of places we
would like to visit for food, fun and
fellowship. Meet at least once a month,
carpooling to a local shoreline restaurant to
share a meal and meet new friends -
weather permitting share an activity as
well. Ever ride a segway?, want to see a
castle?, take a boat to the Thimble Islands,
our list is growing faster than we can get
them planned but there is always room for
new friends and new ideas! We always find
a great place to share a meal.
Co-Chairs: Melissa Thornburg and Gail Siclari
Ladies Night Out
Usually meets monthly — perhaps a spa
night, Quick Cuisine party, chocolate tasting
or movie night. Pamper yourself and enjoy
a fabulous night out sans kids and hubbies!
Of course, food and wine will always be
there. Our SIG will kick-off 2009 in
October. Check the website for events.
Co-Chairs: Lauren Preskar and Jessica Bowler
Men’s Poker
Men of Madison show off your bluffing skills
with some Texas Hold 'Em the last Friday of
each month starting at 8:30 P.M. $10.00
buy in and BYOB.
Chairperson: David Moloney (Kathleen O’
Connell’s husband)
Men’s Pub Night
Come meet other "better-halves" exploring
the various watering holes along the
shoreline and discuss life & death topics
your wife could care less about (such as
lawn care, the Yankees VS Red Sox debate
and beer, of course!) Meets the 2nd Friday
of every month - check website for location.
Chairperson: Jason Corsello
Network Café
A group that meets Tuesday mornings in a
home of a Newcomer Member and once a
month at a local establishment. It is a
relaxing open group and a great place to get
plugged in and share your morning
beverage. We are as diverse as the
beverages we choose…You Fit In, come see
where!
Co-Chairs: Melissa Thornburg and Monica
Koshgarian
Running
Keep yourself in top physical shape while
enjoying other women’s company. Will try
to arrange runs around members’ schedules
and abilities.
Co-Chairs: Pam Davies
