Letter from the Presidents
Whether you are just joining our group, or you are returning for another year, we are so thrilled to have you! We are Jenny Ney and Jaime Flotre, Co-Presidents of Madison Newcomers this year. Madison Newcomers is organized around our membership-wide General Meetings, held at a local businesses, with time to sip, eat and chat with new friends and learn about a group or organization that is doing work in our community.
In addition to General Meetings, we have our theme-based Special Interest Groups (SIGs), such as Gourmet Club, Fitness Club, Ladies Night, Family Social, Book Club, The New 40, Men’s Night, and others, which are a great opportunity to meet in a smaller setting and get to know people with similar interests. Once you become a paying member of Madison Newcomers, you will begin to receive Evites via email for each of these SIG events. New this year, we added a Social Chair to the Newcomers board and will be incorporating Newcomers-wide Fall and Spring large events.
Finally, Madison Newcomers highlights our role in our community in a number of ways, including through collecting goods for local charitable organizations at our General Meetings, volunteering at Bauer Park’s Fall Festival, and hosting community events like the Monster Bash at the Arts Barn in Madison and our keystone event, Touch a Truck, in the Spring. We encourage all of our members to keep an eye out for volunteer opportunities associated with these community events and to look for ways to get involved. We are personally committed to Madison Newcomers as both a social and civic organization and hope that this commitment motivates you to help the Newcomers continue to make a big impact on our community.
We are excited for the year ahead!
