I moved to Madison in 2022 with my husband and two young boys after 11 years in the NYC area. I worked as a freelance French horn player (Broadway and classical) until the pandemic hit and the music industry shut down. At the time I had just given birth to my younger son and decided to go back to school to train for a job I could do from home. I’m now happily working as a data scientist from my house in Madison! I love that I can drive my kids 10 minutes to the beach in summer (or really any time of year) and 20 minutes to ski at Powder Ridge in the winter. My mom and stepdad also live in town which is amazing for our family! My realtor strongly suggested joining Newcomers when I voiced my fears about relocating yet again and to a more remote area than I was used to. In one year I have met so many great friends through the club and quickly felt that I belonged in this community. I’m excited to join the board this year and give back to this wonderful organization!
